The Trees For Wealth (TfW) Movement is a flagship program of The Entrepreneurs Associates (tEA) which envisions North East India as the ‘Fruit Hub’ of India developing a self sustaining economy and creating opportunities for its people.
The Trees For Wealth (TfW) is designed as a Movement to trigger the plantation of fruit trees and native trees across the region in both rural and urban areas, which will generate valuable additional income for farmers and entrepreneurs and catalyse the growth of various agri-based industries and food processing units in the region which in turn will generate employment.
Micro-nurseries are
being promoted and supported under the initiative to further encourage micro-orchards in a region distinguished by traditionally fragmented land holdings by individual farmers.
Essentially built on a sustainable livelihoods model, the Trees For Wealth Movement also incorporates tEA’s commitment to building a safer environment for the generations to come, marking its contribution to meeting Goal 13 of the UN SDG which aims to make considerable attempts to mitigate climate change.
tEA launched the Trees for Wealth Movement on the 22nd of November 2019, in a grand ceremony with the then Hon’ble Minister for Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue, and Parliamentary Affairs, Shri. Neiba Kronu as the Chief Guest.
Till date tEA has planted over 7 lakh fruit trees and 1 lakh non fruit trees with plantations underway across the NER.
